Role Overview – SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
As an SEN Specialist LSA, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with additional needs, ensuring they are fully included in school life and able to reach their full potential.
You will work closely with class teachers, the SENCo, and external professionals to deliver targeted support and high-quality interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, particularly ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
Support children’s social, emotional, and academic development
Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
Promote independence, confidence, and engagement through structured support
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and SEN professionals
Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
Requirements – SEN LSA (Wimbledon)
Proven experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly autism (ASC)
Strong understanding of SEN strategies, behaviour management, and early years support
Excellent communication skills, patience, and resilience
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils, families, and staff
