SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Croydon
Contract: Full-time
Start: September 2026
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Croydon from September 2026.
This rewarding SEN Teaching Assistant role involves providing 1:1 support for a pupil with Down Syndrome, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and thrive within the classroom environment.
The Role:
Full-time, long-term position starting September 2026
Working as a SEN Teaching Assistant supporting a primary-aged pupil on a 1:1 basis
Assisting with learning, communication, and social development
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
Creating a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Supporting both academic progress and emotional wellbeing
The Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant
Experience supporting children with Down Syndrome or additional needs is highly desirable
Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Passionate about supporting children with SEN
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
