Teaching Assistant (Secondary) – Addlestone

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a thriving secondary school in Addlestone. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about supporting young people and has a proven track record of raising attainment across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

About the School

The school is a well-regarded and inclusive setting that places a strong emphasis on both academic success and student wellbeing. With a supportive leadership team and a collaborative staff culture, the school is committed to creating a positive learning environment where all students are encouraged to achieve their full potential. High expectations, strong pastoral care, and a focus on continuous improvement underpin everything the school does. Staff are supported through ongoing professional development and a clear commitment to career progression.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work across KS3 and KS4, supporting students both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. A key aspect of the role will be providing 1:1 support for students who require additional guidance to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.

Your responsibilities will include working closely with teachers to support lesson delivery, adapting resources to meet individual needs, and delivering structured interventions in core subjects such as English and Maths. You will play a crucial role in monitoring student progress, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies that contribute to raising attainment. You will also support with behaviour management, ensuring students remain engaged and focused in a positive and inclusive environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who:

  • Has a proven track record of supporting secondary students and raising attainment

  • Is confident delivering targeted interventions and working 1:1 with students

  • Has strong literacy and numeracy skills

  • Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork abilities

  • Is proactive, adaptable, and committed to student success

  • Has a positive, resilient, and professional approach

  • Experience working within a secondary school setting is essential, and a strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum is highly desirable.

What We Offer

  • A supportive and forward-thinking school environment

  • Opportunities for ongoing training and professional development

  • A rewarding role where you can make a real impact on students’ academic outcomes and confidence

  • If you are a passionate and driven Teaching Assistant looking to contribute to a high-achieving secondary school, we encourage you to apply.
